Proverbs Capítulo 2

KJV — King James Version · 22 versículos

1

My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;

Spiritual Insight

Receiving wisdom isn't passive — it means actively welcoming God's words and treasuring them inside you. Treat His commandments like the precious gift they are.

2

So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding;

Spiritual Insight

There's an intentional posture here: inclining your ear, applying your heart. Wisdom responds to effort — it meets those who lean in with genuine hunger.

3

Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;

Spiritual Insight

Sometimes you have to cry out for understanding — it's okay to be desperate for wisdom. God honors that kind of passionate seeking.

4

If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;

Spiritual Insight

Search for wisdom the way a miner searches for silver — with patience, determination, and the belief that something precious is hidden just beneath the surface.

5

Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.

Spiritual Insight

The reward of seeking wisdom isn't just cleverness — it's encountering God Himself. When you chase understanding, you find the fear of the Lord waiting for you.

6

For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

Spiritual Insight

You don't generate wisdom on your own — it flows from God. He is the source, and every true insight you've ever had was a gift from His hand.

7

He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.

Spiritual Insight

God stores up wisdom for those who walk with Him — like a loving parent keeping good things in reserve for a faithful child. He is also your shield along the way.

8

He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.

Spiritual Insight

God doesn't just give wisdom — He actively guards the path of those who follow Him. You're never walking alone; His protection covers every step of justice.

9

Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.

Spiritual Insight

Wisdom brings clarity — you'll begin to see what's right, what's fair, and where the good path leads. Life's gray areas start to find their colors.

10

When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul;

Spiritual Insight

When wisdom truly enters your heart, it doesn't just inform you — it delights you. Knowing God's ways becomes a source of deep, genuine pleasure.

11

Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:

Spiritual Insight

Think of discretion as a guardian and understanding as a keeper — they stand at the door of your life, protecting you from choices you'd later regret.

12

To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things;

Spiritual Insight

Wisdom acts as a rescue team, pulling you away from people who twist truth for their own ends. It gives you the discernment to spot twisted words before they trap you.

13

Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;

Spiritual Insight

Some people don't stumble into darkness — they choose to leave the light. Wisdom helps you recognize when someone has deliberately turned away from what's right.

14

Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked;

Spiritual Insight

There's something chilling about people who find genuine joy in doing wrong. Wisdom teaches you to keep your distance from those who celebrate what should grieve them.

15

Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths:

Spiritual Insight

Crooked paths may look like shortcuts, but they only lead to twisted destinations. Wisdom keeps your steps on the straight road, even when it feels longer.

16

To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words;

Spiritual Insight

Temptation often comes with smooth words and flattery — but wisdom sees through the charm to the danger underneath. Sweet words can mask bitter consequences.

17

Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God.

Spiritual Insight

Abandoning commitments — especially sacred ones — leaves a trail of broken trust. Wisdom honors the promises made before God, even when it costs something.

18

For her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead.

Spiritual Insight

Sin's house always leans toward death — it may look inviting, but the foundation is crumbling. What seems like life is actually a slow march toward the grave.

19

None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of life.

Spiritual Insight

This verse carries a heavy warning: some doors, once opened, are nearly impossible to close again. The path of life requires staying far from paths that lead away from it.

20

That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous.

Spiritual Insight

Wisdom's ultimate goal isn't just avoiding evil — it's actively walking the good road alongside good people. You were made for companionship on the journey of righteousness.

21

For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it.

Spiritual Insight

There's a deep promise here — the upright will dwell securely in the land. Faithfulness isn't just rewarded spiritually; it roots you in a place of belonging and stability.

22

But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.

Spiritual Insight

While the righteous are planted and remain, the wicked are uprooted like weeds. It's a gentle reminder: what you're rooted in determines whether you'll last.
