Proverbs Capítulo 1

KJV — King James Version · 33 versículos

1

The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel;

Spiritual Insight

Solomon, the wisest king, chose to share his wisdom with everyone — not keep it to himself. That generosity still echoes through the centuries, reaching you right now.

2

To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;

Spiritual Insight

Wisdom isn't just knowing facts — it's learning how to truly see and understand the world around you. God wants you to have eyes that perceive what really matters.

3

To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;

Spiritual Insight

There's a beauty in being teachable — in letting wisdom shape your sense of justice and fairness. An open heart learns what a closed one never will.

4

To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.

Spiritual Insight

No one starts off wise. God meets the simple and the young right where they are, offering practical wisdom for real life. He believes in your growth.

5

A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:

Spiritual Insight

Even a wise person keeps learning — wisdom isn't a destination but a lifelong pursuit. The moment you think you've arrived is the moment you stop growing.

6

To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.

Spiritual Insight

Some truths are hidden beneath the surface, waiting for those willing to dig deeper. God rewards the curious heart that seeks to understand life's mysteries.

7

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Spiritual Insight

Everything begins with reverence for God — that's the foundation of all true knowledge. The person who dismisses wisdom isn't being brave; they're just walking blind.

8

My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:

Spiritual Insight

There's something sacred about the guidance passed down from those who love you. Listening to your parents' wisdom is an act of love, not limitation.

9

For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.

Spiritual Insight

Good teaching becomes a part of you — it adorns your life like a beautiful garland. Carrying wisdom gracefully makes everything about you shine a little brighter.

10

My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.

Spiritual Insight

The first step to staying out of trouble is simply saying no when the wrong crowd calls. You don't have to explain yourself — a firm 'no' is enough.

11

If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause:

Spiritual Insight

Pressure to join in wrongdoing often comes wrapped in excitement and brotherhood. But ask yourself: why does it feel necessary to hide if it's truly right?

12

Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit:

Spiritual Insight

Violence feeds on itself — the desire to swallow others whole eventually consumes the aggressor too. Hate is never satisfied; it only grows hungrier.

13

We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil:

Spiritual Insight

Greed paints a picture of abundance, but it's built on taking from others. The spoils look shiny, but the cost is always someone else's pain.

14

Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse:

Spiritual Insight

There's a seductive appeal in being told 'we're all in this together' — but shared wrongdoing only means shared consequences. Choose your partners wisely.

15

My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path:

Spiritual Insight

Sometimes the wisest move is simply to walk the other way. You don't need to debate the wrong path — just don't take it.

16

For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.

Spiritual Insight

People rushing toward evil have already lost their way, even if they think they're winning. Speed in the wrong direction only gets you further from home.

17

Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird.

Spiritual Insight

Even a bird knows enough to avoid a trap it can see clearly. How much more should we, with our ability to reason, recognize and avoid what will harm us?

18

And they lay wait for their own blood; they lurk privily for their own lives.

Spiritual Insight

Those who set traps for others end up caught in their own schemes. Evil has a way of boomeranging back to the one who threw it.

19

So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; which taketh away the life of the owners thereof.

Spiritual Insight

Greed doesn't just take from others — it slowly takes the life of the one who holds it. The pursuit of unfair gain is a kind of slow self-destruction.

20

Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets:

Spiritual Insight

Wisdom doesn't hide in some secret place — she shouts in the streets, available to anyone willing to listen. God's truth is not exclusive; it's everywhere.

21

She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying,

Spiritual Insight

In the busiest places of life — the markets, the gates, the crossroads — wisdom is calling out. You don't need a mountaintop experience; just open your ears where you are.

22

How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?

Spiritual Insight

There's a gentle urgency in wisdom's question: how long will you stay comfortable in your complacency? Growth begins when we admit we have more to learn.

23

Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.

Spiritual Insight

God promises that if you turn toward His correction, He'll pour out His spirit on you. Repentance isn't about shame — it's about opening the door to deeper understanding.

24

Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;

Spiritual Insight

It breaks God's heart when He reaches out and no one takes His hand. He keeps calling, keeps stretching out — but love must be received to work its miracle.

25

But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:

Spiritual Insight

Ignoring good advice doesn't make it go away — it just leaves you without it when you need it most. Every piece of rejected wisdom is a missed shelter in the storm.

26

I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;

Spiritual Insight

This is wisdom's painful consequence, not cruelty — when you've refused every hand that reached for you, there's no one left to pull you from the fire you walked into.

27

When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.

Spiritual Insight

Fear and destruction don't ask permission before they arrive — they come like a whirlwind. The time to prepare for the storm is while the sky is still clear.

28

Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:

Spiritual Insight

There comes a point where the door that was always open begins to close. Don't wait until desperation drives you to seek God — seek Him while He may be found.

29

For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:

Spiritual Insight

The root of all this tragedy isn't ignorance — it's the willful rejection of truth. Choosing to fear the Lord is choosing life itself.

30

They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.

Spiritual Insight

They didn't lack access to wisdom — they actively pushed it away. The saddest human stories often involve not what people didn't have, but what they refused.

31

Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.

Spiritual Insight

We eventually become the harvest of the seeds we've planted. Your choices today are tomorrow's fruit — make sure it's something you'll want to eat.

32

For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.

Spiritual Insight

It's a sobering thought that comfort can kill — when ease makes us stop listening, our very security becomes our undoing. Stay awake, even when life feels safe.

33

But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

Spiritual Insight

What a beautiful promise — those who listen to wisdom can live without fear. Not because life becomes easy, but because they've found an unshakable foundation.
