Proverbs Capítulo 3

KJV — King James Version · 35 versículos

1

My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:

Spiritual Insight

Don't just hear God's law — let your heart hold onto it. When truth moves from your ears to your heart, it transforms the way you actually live.

2

For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.

Spiritual Insight

God connects obedience with blessing — not as a transaction, but as a natural harvest. Living by His wisdom leads to longer, more peaceful days.

3

Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:

Spiritual Insight

Mercy and truth aren't just nice ideas — they're meant to be worn like a necklace and carved into your heart. Let kindness and honesty become part of who you are.

4

So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

Spiritual Insight

When mercy and truth shape your character, both God and people take notice. You don't have to strive for favor — it finds those who walk with integrity.

5

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

Spiritual Insight

Perhaps the most famous verse in Proverbs — and for good reason. Trusting God completely means letting go of the need to figure everything out yourself. That's real freedom.

6

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Spiritual Insight

Acknowledging God in everything — your work, your relationships, your decisions — opens the door for Him to guide you. He doesn't need you to be perfect; just willing.

7

Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.

Spiritual Insight

There's a humility in fearing God and turning from evil that actually protects you. Thinking you're wise enough on your own is the first step toward a fall.

8

It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

Spiritual Insight

Faithfulness to God affects even your body — peace and wisdom bring real health. Your soul and body are connected more deeply than you might realize.

9

Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:

Spiritual Insight

Honoring God with your resources means putting Him first — not giving Him what's left over. The first fruits are a statement of trust: God comes before everything.

10

So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.

Spiritual Insight

Generosity toward God doesn't lead to lack — it leads to overflow. When you give Him your first and best, He delights in filling your life beyond what you expected.

11

My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction:

Spiritual Insight

Don't brush off God's discipline — it's not rejection, it's refinement. When life gets hard, consider that God may be lovingly shaping you, not punishing you.

12

For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.

Spiritual Insight

A father corrects the child he loves — and so does God. His discipline is the proof of His affection, not the absence of it. You are never corrected by a stranger.

13

Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.

Spiritual Insight

There's a deep happiness that comes from finding wisdom — it's not just intellectual satisfaction, it's a soul-level joy. The search itself becomes part of the blessing.

14

For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.

Spiritual Insight

Wisdom outperforms the best investments — better than silver, more profitable than gold. In a world chasing wealth, wisdom offers returns that never lose value.

15

She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.

Spiritual Insight

Compared to wisdom, even rubies lose their luster. Every earthly treasure you could desire pales next to the richness of knowing God's ways.

16

Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour.

Spiritual Insight

Wisdom holds length of days in one hand and riches and honor in the other — she's not stingy with her gifts. She gives generously to those who embrace her.

17

Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.

Spiritual Insight

The ways of wisdom aren't harsh or burdensome — they're pleasant and peaceful. Walking in God's wisdom brings a kind of inner rest that nothing else can offer.

18

She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.

Spiritual Insight

Wisdom is a tree of life — nourishing, sheltering, and life-giving to everyone who reaches for her. She doesn't just improve your life; she sustains it.

19

The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens.

Spiritual Insight

The very foundations of the earth were laid by wisdom — the same wisdom God offers you. When you seek wisdom, you're tapping into the same power that built the universe.

20

By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew.

Spiritual Insight

God's knowledge controls the clouds and the deep — His wisdom literally sustains creation. The same God who waters the earth wants to water your soul with understanding.

21

My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion:

Spiritual Insight

Keep wisdom and discretion always in your sights — don't let them drift into the background of your life. They're not optional extras; they're essential companions.

22

So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck.

Spiritual Insight

Wisdom becomes life to your soul and grace to your presence — it changes how you feel on the inside and how you appear on the outside. It beautifies everything about you.

23

Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble.

Spiritual Insight

When wisdom guides you, you can walk confidently without fear of stumbling. It doesn't mean the path is always easy — but it means your steps are sure.

24

When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.

Spiritual Insight

Peace at bedtime is one of wisdom's sweetest gifts — a quiet mind and a trusting heart let you sleep soundly. Wisdom tucks you in with the assurance that God is watching.

25

Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh.

Spiritual Insight

Sudden terrors lose their power when your confidence is in God. Fear may come knocking, but it doesn't have to come in — wisdom keeps the door closed.

26

For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.

Spiritual Insight

God Himself becomes your confidence — not your skills, not your plans, but His presence. With Him beside you, your foot won't be caught in the traps ahead.

27

Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.

Spiritual Insight

When you have the ability to help someone, don't hold back. Today's small kindness could be someone else's lifeline. Do good while you still have the chance.

28

Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee.

Spiritual Insight

Don't make people wait for help when you could give it now — delay can feel like denial. If it's in your hand today, share it today.

29

Devise not evil against thy neighbour, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee.

Spiritual Insight

Your neighbor trusts you because they live near you — honor that trust. Planning harm against someone who feels safe around you is a deep betrayal.

30

Strive not with a man without cause, if he have done thee no harm.

Spiritual Insight

Don't go looking for a fight where there's no cause — peace is worth protecting. If someone hasn't wronged you, leave the sword in its sheath.

31

Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways.

Spiritual Insight

Don't envy the oppressor's apparent success — his ways lead to destruction. The shiny surface hides a rotten core. Choose a different path, even if it looks less glamorous.

32

For the froward is abomination to the LORD: but his secret is with the righteous.

Spiritual Insight

God detests the devious but shares His secrets with the righteous. There's an intimacy reserved for those who walk honestly — God opens His heart to them.

33

The curse of the LORD is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just.

Spiritual Insight

God's curse and blessing aren't random — they fall along the lines of how people choose to live. A home built on wickedness and a home built on justice live in two different worlds.

34

Surely he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth grace unto the lowly.

Spiritual Insight

God gives grace to the humble — not to the impressive, not to the powerful, but to the lowly. Pride erects walls; humility opens doors to God's unmerited favor.

35

The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools.

Spiritual Insight

Wisdom leads to glory, and foolishness to shame — it's that simple. The inheritance you leave behind will tell the story of how wisely you lived.
