智 慧 豈 不 呼 叫 ？ 聰 明 豈 不 發 聲 ？
Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?

智慧不是沉默的——她大聲呼喊，讓所有人聽見。如果你沒聽到她，不是因為她太安靜；而是因為路途中有太多噪音。

She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths.

She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors.

眾 人 哪， 我 呼 叫 你 們， 我 向 世 人 發 聲。
Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man.

她向所有人呼喊——不只是受過教育的、虔誠的或特權的。智慧的邀請是普世的；她的雙臂向任何願意傾聽的人敞開。
說 ： 愚 蒙 人 哪， 你 們 要 會 悟 靈 明 ； 愚 昧 人 哪， 你 們 當 心 裡 明 白。
O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.

連簡單的人和愚昧人都被邀請來學習——智慧不需要先決條件。你不需要一開始就很聰明；你只需要願意。

Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things.

For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips.

All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them.

They are all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge.

For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.

I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions.

敬 畏 耶 和 華 在 乎 恨 惡 邪 惡 ； 那 驕 傲 、 狂 妄， 並 惡 道， 以 及 乖 謬 的 口， 都 為 我 所 恨 惡。
The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.

Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.

By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.

Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness.

My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver.

While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world.

When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:

Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.

眾 子 啊， 現 在 要 聽 從 我， 因 為 謹 守 我 道 的， 便 為 有 福。
Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways.

現在要聽我說——遵守我道的人有福了。在描述了智慧的榮耀之後，應用很簡單：聆聽並跟隨。

Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.

Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.

因 為 尋 得 我 的， 就 尋 得 生 命， 也 必 蒙 耶 和 華 的 恩 惠。
For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD.

尋見智慧的人就尋見生命，也必蒙耶和華的恩惠——她是通往一切美善的門。找到她不只是關於變得聰明；而是關於真正活著。
得 罪 我 的， 卻 害 了 自 己 的 性 命 ； 恨 惡 我 的， 都 喜 愛 死 亡。
But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.
