1 Corinthians 第 3
KJV — King James Version · 23 節
And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.
Spiritual Insight
Paul wanted to give them solid food but had to stick with milk. Spiritual growth isn't automatic — sometimes we stay beginners longer than we'd like to admit.
I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.
Spiritual Insight
There's no shame in starting with milk — the problem is staying there. Growth takes patience, both from the teacher and the learner.
For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?
Spiritual Insight
Jealousy and strife are telltale signs of spiritual immaturity. When we're still fighting over who's better, we're still acting like the world.
For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?
Spiritual Insight
Aligning yourself with a favorite leader is a hallmark of spiritual infancy. Maturity means recognizing that all leaders serve the same Lord.
Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?
Spiritual Insight
Paul and Apollos were just servants doing what God assigned. Every leader you admire is simply a channel, not the source.
I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
Spiritual Insight
One plants, another waters — but neither can make anything grow. We each have our role, and the results belong entirely to God.
So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.
Spiritual Insight
The one who plants isn't nothing, and the one who waters isn't nothing — but compared to the One who gives growth, both are simply privileged partners.
Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.
Spiritual Insight
Planters and waterers are on the same team, and each will be rewarded for their own labor. Comparison is pointless when God sees your unique contribution.
For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.
Spiritual Insight
You're not just workers — you're co-laborers *with* God. And you yourselves are God's field and God's building. He's working in you and through you simultaneously.
According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
Spiritual Insight
Paul laid the foundation carefully, like a master builder. But he warns: watch how you build on it. The foundation is secure; what matters is what goes on top.
For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
Spiritual Insight
There's only one foundation that matters: Jesus Christ. No substitute will hold. Every other foundation eventually crumbles under the weight of real life.
Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
Spiritual Insight
Gold, silver, stones — or wood, hay, stubble. You choose your building materials every day through your choices, priorities, and investments.
Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.
Spiritual Insight
One day, fire will test every person's work. Not to condemn, but to reveal what's real. What will survive the flames of that day?
If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
Spiritual Insight
Work that endures earns a reward. Faithful, hidden, patient labor — the kind nobody claps for — is exactly what the fire reveals as precious.
If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
Spiritual Insight
Even if your work burns up, *you* are still saved. Grace holds you even when your efforts fall short. But there's loss — a motivation to build wisely.
Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
Spiritual Insight
You *are* God's temple. Not you will be, not you might be — you are. The Spirit of God actually lives in you. Let that sink in.
If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
Spiritual Insight
God takes the holiness of His temple seriously — and that temple is you. This isn't about a building code; it's about the sacredness of your life.
Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.
Spiritual Insight
Want to be truly wise? First, be willing to look foolish. The world's wisdom and God's wisdom travel in opposite directions.
For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.
Spiritual Insight
The world's wisdom is foolishness to God — and He catches the clever in their own schemes. Intellectual pride is a trap that springs on itself.
And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.
Spiritual Insight
God knows our thoughts, and He calls them vain. Not cruel — just honest. Our grandest ideas without Him are like castles made of air.
Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours;
Spiritual Insight
Don't boast about human leaders — because everything belongs to you. In Christ, the universe is your inheritance. Why fight over sides when the whole field is yours?
Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours;
Spiritual Insight
Paul, Apollos, Peter, life, death, present, future — all yours. God isn't stingy with His children. The fullness of creation serves His people.
And ye are Christ’s; and Christ is God’s.
Spiritual Insight
And you belong to Christ, and Christ belongs to God. It's a beautiful chain of belonging — held by love, secured by grace, forever.
