1 Corinthians 第 2

KJV — King James Version · 16

1

And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.

Spiritual Insight

Paul didn't show up with a TED Talk. He came with a simple testimony — no polish, no pretense. Sometimes the most powerful message is the most plain one.

2

For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.

Spiritual Insight

Paul made a deliberate choice to know nothing except Christ crucified. In a world of endless information, there's freedom in focusing on what matters most.

3

And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.

Spiritual Insight

Even the apostle Paul felt weak, afraid, and trembling. Your vulnerability isn't a disqualification — it's often the very place where God's power shows up.

4

And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:

Spiritual Insight

The power wasn't in Paul's words — it was in the Spirit behind them. A sermon without the Spirit is just a lecture; with the Spirit, it changes lives.

5

That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

Spiritual Insight

Your faith needs a stronger foundation than someone's clever argument. God wants your trust anchored in His power, not in persuasive human reasoning.

6

Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:

Spiritual Insight

There *is* wisdom for the mature — but it's not the kind the world celebrates. God's wisdom operates on a completely different frequency.

7

But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:

Spiritual Insight

God's wisdom was hidden, planned before time began, for your glory. You're not an afterthought — you were part of the eternal design.

8

Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

Spiritual Insight

The rulers of the world missed it completely — if they'd known who Jesus really was, they never would have crucified Him. Human power is often blind to divine glory.

9

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

Spiritual Insight

No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him. The best is truly yet to come.

10

But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

Spiritual Insight

God didn't keep these things hidden forever — He reveals them through His Spirit. The deepest truths aren't discovered by effort; they're revealed by relationship.

11

For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

Spiritual Insight

Just as only your own spirit knows your deepest thoughts, only God's Spirit knows God's depths. Intimacy with God comes through His Spirit, not through speculation.

12

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

Spiritual Insight

You received God's Spirit, not the world's. That means you have access to the inside scoop on everything God freely offers you.

13

Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

Spiritual Insight

Spiritual truths need spiritual language. Paul didn't rely on human rhetoric — he let the Holy Spirit shape both the message and the delivery.

14

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Spiritual Insight

The natural mind simply can't process spiritual realities — it's like trying to explain color to someone who's never seen. Spiritual discernment is a gift, not an achievement.

15

But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.

Spiritual Insight

The spiritual person can evaluate everything, yet can't be fully understood by others. There's a quiet confidence that comes from walking with the Spirit.

16

For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

Spiritual Insight

Who can know the mind of the Lord? Astoundingly, the answer is: you can — because you have the mind of Christ. That's not arrogance; that's grace.
