Titus Capítulo 3

KJV — King James Version · 15 versículos

1

Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,

Spiritual Insight

Being a good citizen and doing good work isn't separate from faith — it's part of it. Submission to authority and readiness to serve are quiet but powerful ways to live out the gospel.

2

To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.

Spiritual Insight

No slander, no fighting, just gentleness toward everyone. In an age of outrage and online arguments, this feels almost countercultural. Maybe that's exactly the point.

3

For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.

Spiritual Insight

Before pointing fingers, remember where you came from. We were all once foolish and selfish. Remembering our own story keeps us humble and compassionate toward others who are still struggling.

4

But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,

Spiritual Insight

God's kindness didn't wait for us to get our act together — it appeared while we were still a mess. That's what makes it grace: it comes before we deserve it, not after.

5

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

Spiritual Insight

Not by our good deeds, but by His mercy. The washing and renewing are His work, not ours. This frees us from the exhausting treadmill of trying to earn what can only be received.

6

Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;

Spiritual Insight

The Holy Spirit isn't given sparingly — He's poured out generously through Jesus. God doesn't dole out His Spirit in teaspoons; He opens the floodgates.

7

That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Spiritual Insight

Justified by grace, made heirs of eternal life — that's not just a theological statement, it's an identity shift. We go from spiritual orphans to beloved children with an inheritance.

8

This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.

Spiritual Insight

Believing in God should lead to doing good — constantly, carefully, intentionally. Faith without works is incomplete, and good deeds aren't optional extras; they're the natural fruit of a life that's been changed.

9

But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.

Spiritual Insight

Some arguments just aren't worth having. Genealogies, controversies, legalistic debates — Paul says avoid them. They drain energy without producing anything good. Choose your battles wisely.

10

A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject;

Spiritual Insight

There's a difference between being patient with someone's struggles and enabling persistent division. After repeated warnings, sometimes the most loving thing is to step back and let consequences do their work.

11

Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.

Spiritual Insight

Someone who keeps choosing wrong after being corrected isn't just making mistakes — they're choosing a direction. There's a sadness in watching someone condemn themselves by their own choices.

12

When I shall send Artemas unto thee, or Tychicus, be diligent to come unto me to Nicopolis: for I have determined there to winter.

Spiritual Insight

Even Paul planned practical things — where to spend winter, who to send where. Faith doesn't mean ignoring logistics. God works through our thoughtful planning as much as through our prayers.

13

Bring Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their journey diligently, that nothing be wanting unto them.

Spiritual Insight

Take care of people on their journey — make sure they lack nothing. It's a simple instruction, but it speaks to a hospitality that's proactive and generous, not just polite.

14

And let ours also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they be not unfruitful.

Spiritual Insight

Learn to do good, meet real needs, don't be unfruitful. Faith is meant to produce something tangible — lives that contribute, help, and bless the people around them.

15

All that are with me salute thee. Greet them that love us in the faith. Grace be with you all. Amen.

Spiritual Insight

The letter ends with a warm greeting — real people, real friendships, real community. Faith isn't lived in isolation; it's shared in relationships where grace flows between people who love each other.
