Titus Capítulo 2

KJV — King James Version · 15 versículos

1

But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:

Spiritual Insight

Sound doctrine isn't dry theology — it's teaching that produces healthy, vibrant living. What we believe should actually shape how we behave, not just fill our heads with information.

2

That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.

Spiritual Insight

Older men are called to a quiet strength — sober, reverent, steady in faith and love and patience. In a world obsessed with youth, there's something powerful about dignified maturity.

3

The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;

Spiritual Insight

Older women aren't called to sit back — they're called to teach and model holiness. Their lives become living curriculum for the next generation. That's a beautiful kind of legacy.

4

That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,

Spiritual Insight

Love isn't always spontaneous — sometimes it needs to be taught. Young women learning to love their husbands and children well is a skill, a practice, a daily choice that older women can nurture.

5

To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

Spiritual Insight

Self-control, purity, kindness — these aren't outdated values. They're quiet acts of resistance against a culture that says 'do whatever feels right.' And they protect the reputation of God's word.

6

Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.

Spiritual Insight

Just two words for young men: be sober-minded. In an age of endless distraction and impulsivity, clear thinking is revolutionary. Clarity of mind leads to clarity of life.

7

In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,

Spiritual Insight

The best teaching is backed up by a life that matches. Integrity means your actions and your words tell the same story. People may argue with your words, but they can't argue with a consistent life.

8

Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.

Spiritual Insight

When your words are so sound that critics have nothing to grab onto, your life becomes an unshakeable testimony. Silence from your opponents can speak louder than your own defense.

9

Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again;

Spiritual Insight

Even in unequal power dynamics, believers are called to work with integrity and respect. It's not about accepting injustice — it's about letting your character shine in difficult situations.

10

Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.

Spiritual Insight

Faithfulness in small, unnoticed things — that's what makes God's teaching attractive to others. Your honest work can be a living advertisement for the gospel.

11

For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

Spiritual Insight

Grace doesn't play favorites — it has appeared to everyone. No one is too far gone, too broken, or too ordinary. God's salvation is generously, wildly inclusive.

12

Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

Spiritual Insight

Grace doesn't just save us — it teaches us. It's a patient instructor that says 'no' to what destroys us and 'yes' to a life of self-control and godliness right here, right now.

13

Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

Spiritual Insight

Living between grace received and glory coming — that's the Christian life. We're not just surviving the present; we're waiting for something beautiful that's worth every moment of hope.

14

Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

Spiritual Insight

Jesus didn't just forgive us — He purified us and gave us a purpose: to be people who are eager to do good. We're not saved to sit around; we're saved to live differently.

15

These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

Spiritual Insight

Don't let anyone look down on you — speak, encourage, correct with confidence. Authority comes not from your own greatness but from the truth you carry. Own it with humility and courage.
