Romans Capítulo 5
KJV — King James Version · 21 versículos
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
Spiritual Insight
Justified by faith — and the result is peace with God. Not a truce or a temporary ceasefire, but real reconciliation through Jesus.
By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Spiritual Insight
Through Jesus we have access to grace — a standing invitation into God's presence. And we rejoice in the hope of sharing God's glory.
And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
Spiritual Insight
We even glory in sufferings — not because pain is fun, but because it starts a chain reaction: suffering → perseverance → character → hope.
And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
Spiritual Insight
Perseverance produces character, and character produces hope. Hard times aren't wasted — they're building something in you that easy times never could.
And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
Spiritual Insight
Hope doesn't disappoint, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit. The Spirit living in you is the guarantee that hope is not empty.
For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
Spiritual Insight
Christ died for the ungodly — not for the deserving or the nearly-perfect. At exactly the right time, when we were powerless, He acted.
For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
Spiritual Insight
It's rare enough for someone to die for a good person. But Jesus didn't die for good people — He died for people who were running the wrong direction.
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Spiritual Insight
God demonstrates His love in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. He didn't wait for us to clean up — He came into the mess.
Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
Spiritual Insight
If Jesus' death reconciled us when we were enemies, how much more will His life save us now that we belong to Him? The best is yet to come.
For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
Spiritual Insight
We were reconciled through His death, and we'll be saved through His life. The cross was the beginning, not the end — Jesus' ongoing life sustains us.
And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.
Spiritual Insight
We boast in God through Jesus — not in ourselves, not in our achievements. Joy comes from knowing that the relationship is real and the atonement is done.
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
Spiritual Insight
Sin entered the world through one man, and death came with it. The ripple effect of one choice spread to everyone. We all live downstream from Adam's decision.
(For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
Spiritual Insight
Sin existed before the law was given, but without the law it wasn't counted. The law didn't create sin — it just made it visible and measurable.
Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.
Spiritual Insight
Death reigned even over those who didn't sin like Adam did. Adam was a pattern of the one to come — but what Christ would do would be far greater.
But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.
Spiritual Insight
The gift is not like the trespass. Adam's one sin brought death to many, but Jesus' one act of grace overflows to many even more abundantly.
And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.
Spiritual Insight
One sin brought condemnation, but the free gift covers many trespasses and leads to justification. Grace doesn't just match the damage — it overwhelms it.
For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
Spiritual Insight
If death reigned through one man's sin, how much more will those who receive grace reign in life through Jesus. Grace doesn't just undo the damage — it elevates.
Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
Spiritual Insight
One trespass brought condemnation for all; one act of righteousness brings justification for all. The symmetry is stunning — what Adam broke, Christ fixed.
For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
Spiritual Insight
Through one man's disobedience many were made sinners; through one man's obedience many will be made righteous. Obedience echoes just as loudly as rebellion.
Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:
Spiritual Insight
The law came in to increase the trespass — but where sin increased, grace increased all the more. Sin may be loud, but grace is louder.
That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.
Spiritual Insight
Sin reigned in death, but grace reigns through righteousness leading to eternal life. The kingdom has changed — grace is the new king.
