Proverbs Capítulo 15
KJV — King James Version · 33 versículos
A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.
Spiritual Insight
A gentle, soft answer can defuse even the most heated argument. But harsh words pour gasoline on the fire of anger.
The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.
Spiritual Insight
Wise people use their knowledge with grace and good timing. Fools, however, pour out thoughtlessness without filter.
The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.
Spiritual Insight
God's eyes are everywhere—nothing escapes His notice, whether good or evil. This is both a comfort and a warning worth holding close.
A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.
Spiritual Insight
Words that bring healing are like a tree of life to those who hear them. But a perverse tongue breaks the spirit and shatters what's fragile.
A fool despiseth his father’s instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent.
Spiritual Insight
Only a fool rejects a parent's loving instruction. The person who welcomes correction is already showing signs of wisdom.
In the house of the righteous is much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble.
Spiritual Insight
The home of the righteous is rich—not necessarily in money, but in what truly matters. The income of the wicked always comes tangled with trouble.
The lips of the wise disperse knowledge: but the heart of the foolish doeth not so.
Spiritual Insight
Wise lips scatter knowledge generously wherever they go. The heart of a fool, unfortunately, produces nothing worth sharing.
The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.
Spiritual Insight
Even the most elaborate sacrifice means nothing to God if the heart behind it is wicked. But the simple, sincere prayer of an upright person brings Him genuine delight.
The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the LORD: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness.
Spiritual Insight
God finds the way of the wicked deeply offensive. But He loves—truly loves—the person who chases after righteousness with all their heart.
Correction is grievous unto him that forsaketh the way: and he that hateth reproof shall die.
Spiritual Insight
Correction feels unbearable to someone who has already abandoned the right path. Refusing to be reproofed is not freedom—it leads to death.
Hell and destruction are before the LORD: how much more then the hearts of the children of men?
Spiritual Insight
If God sees into the very depths of hell and destruction, how much more does He see into your heart? Nothing is hidden from His gaze.
A scorner loveth not one that reproveth him: neither will he go unto the wise.
Spiritual Insight
A scorner has no interest in being corrected and avoids wise people entirely. It's easier to stay comfortable in error than to face the truth.
A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.
Spiritual Insight
A joyful heart lights up your whole face—it's visible to everyone. But sorrow within crushes the spirit and dims everything about you.
The heart of him that hath understanding seeketh knowledge: but the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness.
Spiritual Insight
An understanding heart is always hungry for more knowledge. The mouth of a fool, however, feeds on foolishness as if it were nourishment.
All the days of the afflicted are evil: but he that is of a merry heart hath a continual feast.
Spiritual Insight
For the afflicted, every day feels heavy and hard. But someone with a joyful heart finds reasons to celebrate even in ordinary moments.
Better is little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble therewith.
Spiritual Insight
Having little but living in reverent awe of God is far better than having enormous wealth accompanied by constant trouble. Peace outshines prosperity.
Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred therewith.
Spiritual Insight
A simple meal shared in love is better than a lavish feast served with hatred. Love transforms even the humblest table into a banquet.
A wrathful man stirreth up strife: but he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife.
Spiritual Insight
A hot-tempered person starts conflicts wherever they go. Someone who is slow to anger, however, calms disputes and brings peace.
The way of the slothful man is as an hedge of thorns: but the way of the righteous is made plain.
Spiritual Insight
The path of the lazy person feels overgrown with thorns—everything is difficult. But the way of the upright is cleared and straight, like a highway.
A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish man despiseth his mother.
Spiritual Insight
A wise child is a living gift of joy to their father. But anyone who despises their mother carries a foolishness that hurts more than just themselves.
Folly is joy to him that is destitute of wisdom: but a man of understanding walketh uprightly.
Spiritual Insight
Foolishness feels like fun to someone who lacks understanding. But a person of wisdom finds their joy in walking a straight, upright path.
Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established.
Spiritual Insight
Plans fail when they're made in isolation. But when you bring in a circle of wise advisors, your purposes become solid and achievable.
A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it!
Spiritual Insight
There is real joy in giving the right answer at the right moment. A well-timed word is one of life's simplest and most powerful gifts.
The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath.
Spiritual Insight
The wise person sets their course upward, toward life, deliberately steering away from the downward pull of destruction.
The LORD will destroy the house of the proud: but he will establish the border of the widow.
Spiritual Insight
God Himself will tear down the house of the arrogant. But He personally establishes and protects the boundaries of the widow—a beautiful picture of His justice.
The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the LORD: but the words of the pure are pleasant words.
Spiritual Insight
The very thoughts of the wicked are offensive to God. But the words of a pure heart are like a pleasant fragrance to Him.
He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts shall live.
Spiritual Insight
Greed for more brings trouble raining down on your own household. But the person who refuses bribes and stays clean finds true life.
The heart of the righteous studieth to answer: but the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things.
Spiritual Insight
A righteous person carefully thinks before speaking—they study how to respond well. The wicked just let evil thoughts pour out without restraint.
The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.
Spiritual Insight
God keeps His distance from the wicked—not because He doesn't care, but because they've turned away. But He listens attentively to every prayer of the righteous.
The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart: and a good report maketh the bones fat.
Spiritual Insight
A bright, cheerful look brings joy to the heart, and good news revitalizes you right down to your bones. Don't underestimate the power of positive presence.
The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise.
Spiritual Insight
If you're willing to listen to life-giving correction, you'll find yourself in the company of wise people. That openness is the doorway to growth.
He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding.
Spiritual Insight
Rejecting instruction is essentially rejecting yourself—your own growth and well-being. Embracing reproof, though uncomfortable, leads to real understanding.
The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.
Spiritual Insight
True wisdom begins with reverence for God. And before honor ever arrives, humility must come first—it's the necessary preparation for everything good.
