Revelation Chapter 14

KJV — King James Version · 20 verses

1

And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father’s name written in their foreheads.

Spiritual Insight

The Lamb stands on Mount Zion with 144,000, His Father's name on their foreheads. What a picture of belonging—marked not by the beast but by God Himself. You carry His name, and that identity changes everything.

2

And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps:

Spiritual Insight

A voice like rushing waters and thunder, yet harpers playing their harps—power and beauty together in heaven's worship. God's presence is both awesome and intimate. Let that tension shape how you worship.

3

And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.

Spiritual Insight

A new song that only the redeemed can learn—some melodies are born from experience. Your journey with God produces a song no one else can sing. Don't compare your worship; it's uniquely yours.

4

These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.

Spiritual Insight

They follow the Lamb wherever He goes—firstfruits offered to God. This is the posture of complete devotion: no agenda but His. Where is He leading you today? Follow, even if the path is unclear.

5

And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.

Spiritual Insight

No guile found in their mouths—honesty before God's throne. A life without deceit is rare and beautiful. Ask God to purify your words; let your yes be yes and your no be no.

6

And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,

Spiritual Insight

An angel flies through heaven with the everlasting gospel for every nation—God's message is for everyone, everywhere. No one is beyond the reach of His good news. Who in your life needs to hear it today?

7

Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

Spiritual Insight

Fear God and give Him glory—the hour of judgment has come. This isn't about cowering terror but about reverent awe. When you truly see God for who He is, everything else falls into perspective.

8

And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.

Spiritual Insight

Babylon is fallen—the great city that corrupted the nations with her intoxicating wine. Every system that leads people away from God will ultimately collapse. Don't invest your life in what is falling.

9

And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,

Spiritual Insight

A solemn warning against worshipping the beast and receiving his mark. The line is drawn clearly—there is no middle ground. God gives us the dignity of choice, and the stakes are eternal.

10

The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

Spiritual Insight

The wine of God's wrath, poured full strength—a terrifying image of divine justice. God is not indifferent to evil. His patience is real, but so is His justice. Both are expressions of His love.

11

And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

Spiritual Insight

No rest day or night for those who choose the beast—eternal consequences from temporary compromises. The decisions you make now echo into forever. Choose with eternity in mind.

12

Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

Spiritual Insight

Here is the patience of the saints—those who keep God's commands and the faith of Jesus. In a world pressing you to compromise, patient faithfulness is revolutionary. Keep going; your endurance speaks louder than you know.

13

And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.

Spiritual Insight

Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord—they rest from their labor, and their works follow them. What a promise! In God's economy, nothing faithful is ever wasted. Your labor is not in vain.

14

And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle.

Spiritual Insight

A white cloud, the Son of Man with a golden crown and a sharp sickle—the harvester is ready. Jesus comes not just as Savior but as Judge. The harvest is His, and His timing is perfect.

15

And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe.

Spiritual Insight

The time to reap has come—the harvest of the earth is ripe. God's timeline may feel slow to us, but it is never late. Trust His timing, even when waiting feels endless.

16

And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped.

Spiritual Insight

He thrust in His sickle, and the earth was reaped—swift and decisive. When God moves, He doesn't hesitate. The same God who is patient is also purposeful. His actions are always perfectly timed.

17

And another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle.

Spiritual Insight

Another angel with a sharp sickle emerges from heaven's temple—heaven is fully engaged in the harvest. God marshals all of heaven's resources for His purposes. You are part of a cosmic plan.

18

And another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe.

Spiritual Insight

Grapes fully ripe, gathered for the winepress of God's wrath—the imagery is vivid and sobering. There comes a moment when patience gives way to justice. Live in a way that welcomes His harvest with joy, not fear.

19

And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God.

Spiritual Insight

The angel gathers and casts into the great winepress of God's wrath—justice is thorough and complete. Nothing escapes God's notice. Every wrong will be answered, every tear will be redeemed.

20

And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.

Spiritual Insight

Blood flowing for miles from the winepress—the sheer scale of divine judgment is staggering. This is a reminder that God takes evil seriously. Let that seriousness deepen your gratitude for grace.
