Revelation 第 21

KJV — King James Version · 27

1

And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

Spiritual Insight

A new heaven and a new earth—the first things passed away, and there was no more sea. The sea, symbol of chaos, is gone forever. In God's new world, chaos has no place. Peace will be permanent.

2

And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

Spiritual Insight

The holy city, new Jerusalem, comes down from God like a bride adorned for her husband. This is not escape from earth but heaven coming to earth. God's plan is renewal, not abandonment.

3

And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

Spiritual Insight

God's dwelling is with people—He will live with them, and they will be His. This is the whole story in one verse: God with us, forever. Every longing in your heart points to this moment.

4

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Spiritual Insight

He will wipe every tear—no more death, sorrow, crying, or pain. The former things are gone. This is not wishful thinking; it's a promise from the One who keeps every word. Your tears are being counted.

5

And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

Spiritual Insight

Behold, I make all things new—write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true. God is in the business of making things new, including you. You are His renovation project, and the work will be completed.

6

And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

Spiritual Insight

It is done! I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I give freely from the spring of the water of life. The end of the story is also a new beginning—and the water is free.

7

He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

Spiritual Insight

The overcomer inherits all things—I will be his God, and he will be my son. Overcomers are not super-Christians; they are simply those who don't give up. Keep going; the inheritance is waiting.

8

But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Spiritual Insight

But the cowardly, unbelieving, vile, and liars—their portion is the lake of fire. Faith requires courage, and courage means standing firm even when afraid. Don't let fear make your choices.

9

And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb’s wife.

Spiritual Insight

One of the seven angels shows John the bride, the Lamb's wife. The city is not just a place—it's a people. You are part of this living city, built from living stones.

10

And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,

Spiritual Insight

Carried to a great mountain, John sees the holy Jerusalem descending from God. Every great vision requires a higher vantage point. Ask God to lift your perspective so you can see what He's building.

11

Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;

Spiritual Insight

The city shines with God's glory, like a jasper stone, clear as crystal. God's glory is not dim but brilliant, not opaque but transparent. When He fills something, it becomes radiant and clear.

12

And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:

Spiritual Insight

A great high wall, twelve gates with twelve angels, bearing the names of Israel's tribes. God's city has gates—open, guarded, and named. You enter through a gate that bears a story of faith.

13

On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.

Spiritual Insight

Three gates on each side—east, north, south, west. Access to God's city comes from every direction. No one is too far away. From wherever you are, there's a gate facing you.

14

And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

Spiritual Insight

Twelve foundations bearing the names of the twelve apostles. The city is built on the testimony of those who walked with Jesus. Your faith rests on a real foundation—people who saw and testified.

15

And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.

Spiritual Insight

A golden reed to measure the city—God measures what He builds. Every detail matters to Him. Your life is being measured not for condemnation but for careful, loving craftsmanship.

16

And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.

Spiritual Insight

The city is a perfect cube—12,000 furlongs in each dimension. Equal length, width, and height—perfect symmetry from God's hand. In His new creation, nothing is out of balance.

17

And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.

Spiritual Insight

The wall measures 144 cubits—by human measure, which the angel uses. God's measurements are precise and comprehensible. He doesn't build in chaos; He builds with intentionality.

18

And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.

Spiritual Insight

Jasper walls, a city of pure gold like clear glass—materials of earth transformed into something heavenly. The ordinary becomes extraordinary in God's hands. That includes you.

19

And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;

Spiritual Insight

Foundations adorned with every precious stone—jasper, sapphire, chalcedony, emerald. God loves beauty and variety. The foundation of your faith is not gray but colorful, crafted by a divine Artist.

20

The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolyte; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.

Spiritual Insight

Sardonyx, sardius, chrysolyte, beryl, topaz, chrysoprasus, jacinth, amethyst—each foundation stone unique. In God's kingdom, diversity is not tolerated but celebrated. Your uniqueness is by design.

21

And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.

Spiritual Insight

Twelve pearl gates, streets of pure gold like transparent glass. Pearls are formed through irritation and time—beauty born from pain. Your struggles are forming something eternally beautiful.

22

And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.

Spiritual Insight

No temple in the city—the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. No need for a building when God Himself is present. You don't need to go somewhere to find Him; He is everywhere in your life.

23

And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

Spiritual Insight

No sun or moon needed—God's glory gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. Created light sources are unnecessary when the Creator Himself shines. His presence is all the illumination you'll ever need.

24

And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.

Spiritual Insight

The nations walk by its light, and kings bring their glory into it. The city doesn't exclude but attracts—people are drawn to God's light. Let your life be a small reflection of that attracting glow.

25

And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.

Spiritual Insight

Gates never shut—no night there. In God's city, there's no need for locks or curfews. Complete safety, complete openness. That's the world your heart was made for.

26

And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.

Spiritual Insight

The glory and honor of the nations are brought in—human culture redeemed and offered back to God. Not destroyed but purified. Your best work, your finest art, your deepest love—all will find their place here.

27

And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

Spiritual Insight

Nothing impure will ever enter—only those written in the Lamb's book of life. This city has standards, not because God is exclusive, but because He is holy. Holiness is the atmosphere of home.
