1 Corinthians 第 16

KJV — King James Version · 24

1

Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye.

Spiritual Insight

The collection for the saints — practical care for believers in need. Faith isn't just spiritual; it shows up in how we share our resources.

2

Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.

Spiritual Insight

Set something aside on the first day of each week, as God has prospered you. Generosity is regular, proportional, and intentional — not an afterthought.

3

And when I come, whomsoever ye shall approve by your letters, them will I send to bring your liberality unto Jerusalem.

Spiritual Insight

Paul wanted them to choose trusted people to carry the gift. Integrity in handling money matters — it protects the message and the messenger.

4

And if it be meet that I go also, they shall go with me.

Spiritual Insight

If it seemed right, Paul would go too. He wasn't a distant leader — he was willing to get personally involved when the situation called for it.

5

Now I will come unto you, when I shall pass through Macedonia: for I do pass through Macedonia.

Spiritual Insight

Paul shares his travel plans — through Macedonia and then to them. He kept people informed because relationships thrive on communication.

6

And it may be that I will abide, yea, and winter with you, that ye may bring me on my journey whithersoever I go.

Spiritual Insight

He might stay and winter with them. Paul didn't just pass through — he wanted deep, unhurried time with people. Real community takes time.

7

For I will not see you now by the way; but I trust to tarry a while with you, if the Lord permit.

Spiritual Insight

He didn't want to see them just briefly — he hoped to spend real time, if the Lord permitted. Open hands toward the future, with God's will as the anchor.

8

But I will tarry at Ephesus until Pentecost.

Spiritual Insight

Paul stayed in Ephesus until Pentecost — faithful where God placed him. Bloom where you're planted, even while you plan for what's next.

9

For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries.

Spiritual Insight

A great and effective door is open, and there are many adversaries. Opportunity and opposition often come together. Walk through the door anyway.

10

Now if Timotheus come, see that he may be with you without fear: for he worketh the work of the Lord, as I also do.

Spiritual Insight

Treat Timothy with respect and without fear — he's doing the Lord's work. How we treat those who serve alongside us matters to God.

11

Let no man therefore despise him: but conduct him forth in peace, that he may come unto me: for I look for him with the brethren.

Spiritual Insight

Don't despise Timothy — send him on his way in peace. Young leaders need encouragement, not criticism. Build them up.

12

As touching our brother Apollos, I greatly desired him to come unto you with the brethren: but his will was not at all to come at this time; but he will come when he shall have convenient time.

Spiritual Insight

Apollos wanted to come but it wasn't the right time. Even great leaders have seasons of waiting. Timing is God's domain, not ours.

13

Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.

Spiritual Insight

Watch, stand fast, be courageous, be strong. Four commands, each a posture of faith. The Christian life isn't passive — it's alert and brave.

14

Let all your things be done with charity.

Spiritual Insight

Let everything be done in love. This is the filter for all action. Courage without love is harsh; strength without love is tyranny. Love makes it all good.

15

I beseech you, brethren, (ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruits of Achaia, and that they have addicted themselves to the ministry of the saints,)

Spiritual Insight

Stephanas and his household were the first converts in Achaia, and they devoted themselves to serving the saints. Early faith often becomes lifelong service.

16

That ye submit yourselves unto such, and to every one that helpeth with us, and laboureth.

Spiritual Insight

Submit to such people and to every fellow worker. Recognizing and honoring those who labor among you builds a healthy community.

17

I am glad of the coming of Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus: for that which was lacking on your part they have supplied.

Spiritual Insight

Stephanas, Fortunatus, and Achaicus came and supplied what was lacking. Sometimes the most precious gift is simply showing up.

18

For they have refreshed my spirit and yours: therefore acknowledge ye them that are such.

Spiritual Insight

They refreshed Paul's spirit and the Corinthians' too. A refreshing presence is a gift — be someone who brings life to the rooms you enter.

19

The churches of Asia salute you. Aquila and Priscilla salute you much in the Lord, with the church that is in their house.

Spiritual Insight

The churches of Asia send greetings, along with Aquila and Priscilla and their house church. The early church was deeply connected — a web of love across cities.

20

All the brethren greet you. Greet ye one another with an holy kiss.

Spiritual Insight

Greet one another with a holy kiss. Physical expressions of brotherly love were normal then — and the principle endures: show your love openly.

21

The salutation of me Paul with mine own hand.

Spiritual Insight

Paul's own hand wrote this greeting. Even in a dictated letter, he added his personal touch. Personal connection makes everything warmer.

22

If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema Maranatha.

Spiritual Insight

If anyone doesn't love the Lord, let them be anathema. Maranatha — come, Lord. Love for Christ is non-negotiable, and the longing for His return should burn in every heart.

23

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

Spiritual Insight

The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you. Paul ends where the gospel begins — with grace. Everything in between is grace too.

24

My love be with you all in Christ Jesus. Amen.

Spiritual Insight

My love be with you all in Christ Jesus. Paul's final word isn't a command or warning — it's love. After everything, love remains.
