1 Corinthians 第 13

KJV — King James Version · 13

1

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

Spiritual Insight

The most impressive spiritual gift without love is just noise. God isn't moved by performance — He's moved by love. Let your heart lead, not your talent.

2

And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

Spiritual Insight

Understanding all mysteries and having mountain-moving faith — without love, it counts for nothing. Knowledge and power are hollow if they don't serve love.

3

And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

Spiritual Insight

Giving everything away, even your life — without love, it means nothing. The motive behind the sacrifice matters more than the size of it.

4

Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

Spiritual Insight

Love is patient and kind. It doesn't envy or boast. This isn't a description of a feeling — it's a portrait of a person choosing well, again and again.

5

Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

Spiritual Insight

Love doesn't dishonor, isn't self-seeking, isn't easily angered, keeps no record of wrongs. Every clause here is a choice — and love makes it every day.

6

Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

Spiritual Insight

Love doesn't delight in evil but rejoices with truth. It's not naive, and it's not cynical — it holds to what's right while hoping for the best.

7

Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

Spiritual Insight

Love bears, believes, hopes, and endures all things. Not because it's foolish, but because it's fierce. Real love is the bravest thing in the world.

8

Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

Spiritual Insight

Love never fails. Prophecies, tongues, knowledge — they'll all pass away. But love endures. It's the only thing that lasts forever.

9

For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

Spiritual Insight

We know in part and prophesy in part. Humility comes from admitting we don't see the whole picture yet. And that's okay — we're still learning.

10

But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

Spiritual Insight

When completeness comes, what is partial disappears. One day, we'll see clearly. Until then, we walk by faith — and love lights the way.

11

When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

Spiritual Insight

Growing up means putting away childish things. Spiritual maturity isn't about being serious all the time — it's about seeing the world with wiser, more loving eyes.

12

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

Spiritual Insight

Now we see dimly, but then face to face. The fog will lift, and you'll know fully — just as you are fully known. What a day that will be.

13

And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

Spiritual Insight

Faith, hope, and love remain — and the greatest is love. Faith looks up, hope looks forward, but love reaches out. It's the greatest because it most reflects who God is.
